Many people get scared of hearing the name "Insects". Their texture is somewhat strange and scary, but do you know that not all insects are scary or dangerous. Some insects are very beautiful and attractive too. Today we are going to tell you about some of the weirdest insects around the world, you hardly heard of them.

Hymenopus coronatus, also known as walking flower mantis and orchid mantis. Orchid Mantis is of the most beautiful insects in the world. This Insect found in the tropical forests of southeast Asia ( Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Western Ghats of India). It has a unique feature is to change colour, which is white to yellow and pink to brown. It is mostly found on flowers. It has four legs which are like flower petals, due to which it is hard to find. It can also eat lizards and frogs and remains alive for only 8 months.

This strange worm resembling a soft toy is found in Venezuela. Which remains alive for 8 to 9 months. It was first discovered by Dr. Arthur Anker in 2009 in Gran Sabana, Venezuela. He shared a photo of it which went viral very quickly. However, it has not yet been confirmed as a new species.

Giant Water Bug, one of the world's largest insects. Which is found in ponds, rivers, and lakes. Its length is about 2 to 4 inches. Giant Water Bug has large and powerful stings, which it uses to inject strong injection enzymes by biting or catching its prey. It eats small insects, fish, and tadpoles living in the water.

Jumping Stick got such a name only because of jumping and kicking. It is found in Europe, Canada, and Australia. The Jumping Stick is also known for its weird and elongated face. Whose mouth and big eyes are like a locust, which helps it to hunt predators and attract its mate. The special thing about the Jumping Stick is that it can grow a new leg instead of its broken leg. It remains alive for 5 to 12 months.

This insect looks like a scorpion, that is why it is called Scorpionfly. Like a scorpion, the tail of a male Scorpionfly is bent forward, with no sting. Its body is yellow and the head is red. It just seems scary to look at but it's not dangerous. 

The four wings of Scorpionfly are nearly the same length and webbed. However, there are some species that do not have wings. Its wings have a different texture. Feathers are transparent, dark, and light-coloured. On which dark spots are formed.

Giant long-legged katydid is the world's largest and strangest worm. Which is found in the jungles of Malaysia. There are about 6,400 species of katydid. They belong to the Tetti-gonii-dae family. Giant long-legged katydid can grow up to 6 inches long. It looks like a leaf. That is why it is difficult to find it among the leaves of tree plants.

Despite having wings, it rarely flies. Giant long-legged katydid is also known to produce very loud sounds. Its voice can be for different purposes. Such as for sexual intercourse or to attract your partner. Even when it is aggressive it screams fast. Sometimes it also makes a different sound to indicate its presence.

The larvae of the Regal moth are known as Hickory Horned Devil. It is found in North America. Regal is also known as Royal Walnut Moth. Like butterflies, they are also very beautiful and colourful. 

First, it has a green body and orange-coloured horns on its head, but as the larva grows larger. Its colour also varies. Regal moth looks more beautiful than Hickory Horned Devil looks.

Lanternfly is a planthopper and found in China, India, Japan, and Vietnam. It spoils the plants by eating them. Lanternfly is most commonly found on plants of grapes, apples, ornamental trees, and pines. You might think that the plant on which it was found was ruined. Lanternfly eats leaves of plants and pierces them. Even though it is named Lanternfly, it cannot fly.

Amazon Giant Fishing spider can grow up to 8 inches. It is found in South America which is gold, green and white in colour. The giant Fishing spider lives around ponds, lakes, rivers, and freshwater. It hunts insects, tadpoles, and even small fish. It has a special point that it can move fast on water and sometimes can keep itself underwater for several hours, capturing itself in an air bubble of water.

Driver Ant is also known as Dorylus and safari ant. Which is found in Asia and Africa. They are fatal for small animals because their sting is very painful and fatal. With its sting, the grip of its jaw is so strong that it cannot easily be released even after dying. It is dangerous for animals as well as humans. Its bite causes a severe burning sensation and there is swelling.
